Abstract Not only is lacrosse the fastest growing sport in the United States, it's also gaining a significant foothold in several other countries. In order to help ensure a quality, safe experience for all lacrosse participants, several sport-specific issues need to be considered including, head injuries, commotio cordis, and selected nutritional factors. Another important area that needs to be addressed is what constitutes appropriate equipment standards for the sport of lacrosse. Featuring members of the US Lacrosse Sports Science & Safety Committee, Lacrosse: Sport-Specific Issues explores several of the key areas in the sport.
